Situated overlooking Dingle Bay midway between Glenbeigh
and Cahirciveen.
Caitin's Pub is a traditional Old Style Pub that has been
run by the Golden family for over one hundred years. Caitin's
Pub is alleged to be one of the first legalised 'Shebeens'
in Ireland. Steeped in history and folklore the pub has been
patroned by some of Irelands most famous statesmen, such
as Daniel O' Connell and the literary great Brendan Behan.
O' Connells visits were legendary where it is known he stopped
to change horses on his many journeys and enjoy the friendly
atmosphere and wholesome food.
Caitin's Pub has evolved over the centuries from being a
two-roomed 'Shebeen' to one of the most famous stopping points
on the Ring of Kerry. Today it continues to provide you with
the best of food, drink and entertainment all served at this
unique Old World setting.
Caitin's Pub which is located beside the disused old GSWR
railway viaduct has among its many attractions a splendid
collection of photographic memorabilia, which depicts the
local area from the early 1800's.
